Ops platform for indie game studios

Ship the game. Not the spreadsheet.

Riotgrid replaces the chaos of seven half-configured tools with one platform built for how small game studios actually work. Production tracking, playtest scheduling, live-ops handoff, publisher reports — one grid, one team, no context loss.

Why studios switch

Built by shippers, not consultants.

Riotgrid was built inside a small game studio that got tired of paying for six tools that half-worked together. Every feature exists because a specific game production needed it.

// 01

Production tracking that survives crunch

Tasks, sprints, milestones, playtests, bug reports — one board, one search, one keyboard shortcut set. No context-switch tax.

// 02

Playtest scheduling in-app

Recruit testers, send builds, collect structured feedback, generate a session heatmap. No more forgotten Google Forms.

// 03

Live-ops handoff

Ship-to-live tracking with rollback windows, hotfix triage, and a public status page that doesn't cost £200/mo separately.

// 04

Publisher reports on autopilot

Monthly milestone reports auto-generated in a format your publisher already accepts. Time saved per report: 3-6 hours.

// 05

Discord + Slack native

Task updates in your team's chat, chat threads pulled into tasks. Not a bot bolt-on. The integration is the point.

// 06

Owned data, exportable

Full data export in JSON or Markdown at any time. Your project's history is yours. We host it; you keep it.

A closer look

Production tracking, without the workflow theatre.

◆ Sprint view

The board you actually check in the morning.

Riotgrid's sprint view is intentionally opinionated. Three columns (Backlog / In progress / Done), assignee-first sorting, milestone tag on every card, priority dot on the left. No custom-workflow builder. No forty configuration options. Every studio we work with ends up in roughly the same shape anyway — Riotgrid ships that shape by default.

  • Keyboard-first navigation (⌘K opens anything)
  • Drag between columns, or press J/K/L to move
  • Bulk-edit selected cards with one modal
  • Sprint auto-rollover with unfinished-task summary

◆ Milestones

Publisher-ready without the weekend.

Every task ties to a milestone. Riotgrid rolls those up into a milestone dashboard your publisher can read — and, once a month, a formatted report you can send them with one click. Studios on Riotgrid save an average of 4-6 hours per publisher report cycle.

  • Milestone auto-computes % complete from tasks
  • Blocker tracking with named owners and expected clearance dates
  • Publisher report generated in your publisher's preferred format
  • Optional public roadmap page for your community

Studios that use us

Teams that ship.

We killed Notion, Trello, Miro, and a Google Sheet nobody remembered the URL for. Riotgrid does all four, in the shape a game studio actually needs. First week saved us maybe eight hours.

The publisher-report generator alone paid for the tool inside the first month. I used to spend a Saturday afternoon assembling the monthly. Now I open Riotgrid, edit two paragraphs, hit export.

The playtest scheduler is what got us to buy in. We were running tests through Discord DMs and a Google Sheet. Riotgrid replaced both with one flow that also stores the feedback in the same place as the bug tracker. Obvious in retrospect.
